Past Tense
Tense means time .Every sentence has a verb.Every verb shows particular action. Based on the time we have three tenses i.e,1 Present Tense 2.Past Tense 3.Future Tense.Each tense can be sub divided into four types.
2.Past Tense :A Past tense shows a completed action.The expressions yesterday,last year,Last day,Ago etc. Would clearly indicate the past events.
1.Simple Past Tense:
The completed works in the past are expressed in this tense. The past time phrases Yesterday,Last week.Last month,Ago,In 1947,yesterday etc.
RULE: Subjec+Verb 2 +Object
Negative Sentences:Subject+Did+Verb 1.

(-) I did not see a film last week.

2.Past Continuous Tense:
It is used to express an action which was going in past at a point of time.

3.Past Perfect Tense:
In past if two works happened with duration between them the first happened work is expressed in past perfect tense and second happened work is expressed in simple past tense.
When I went to the railway station,The train had left.
When I came to the class,The class had started.

4.Past Perfect Continuous Tense:
A verb which is used to refer to some action which began before a certain point in the past on continued till that time in the past is said to be in Past Perfect Tense.
